Angkor Wat – Siem Reap

Angkor what is truly amazing. You could get lost for days around the site, it’s huge! I went a few times, on my first day a group of us went to see the impressive Angkor temple and then Ta Prohm the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed.

The second day I hired a bike and cycled from siem reap to the Angkor site and then peddled around a bit. It was so hot and quite hard but the long trip was quite rewarding!

On the 3rd day I went to Byon temple with all the beautifully carved faces! I think I preferred it to Angkor Wat. You could get lost around the site whilst exploring.

Siem Reap

I loved Siem Reap. It was a beautiful old city with plenty to do and see. I rented a bike for a couple of days and cycled around taking in all the sites.

I also went to the acrobatic circus one evening which was absolutely amazing. A really inspiring social enterprise that’s come out of the town Battambang.

Whilst I was here I met some truly amazing people that’s I’ve kept bumping into along the way. In fact I liked the place so much that when I got on a bus to leave it broke down and I found myself on the way back to Siem Reap where I stayed an extra night instead of getting on the replacement bus.

When I actually got round to leaving I took a double bed night bus, which was the strangest experience ever. And I shared it with Rob my spoon for the evening.
